Our experienced and well-trained Kilimanjaro team — including professional guides, skilled cooks, and dedicated porters — is committed to ensuring your trek is both safe and successful.
Which Route Should You Take?
Mount Kilimanjaro offers about six routes to the summit, but based on our experience, we recommend three standout options:
1. Lemosho Route
The Lemosho Route is a scenic and less crowded path, ideal for trekkers seeking a quieter experience. While it can be completed in 7 days by experienced hikers, we recommend an 8-day itinerary to allow for proper acclimatization, increasing your chances of a successful summit. For those aged 65–80, we advise a 9-day plan, ensuring a steady and safe ascent to the top.
2. Machame Route
Also known as the “Whisky Route,” Machame is a popular and slightly more affordable path compared to Lemosho. The trail features rolling hills and stunning views, making it a favorite among trekkers. We recommend a 7-day trek for proper acclimatization, though experienced and well-trained hikers can complete it in 6 days. If you’re trekking on a budget, this route is an excellent choice.
3. Northern Circuit Route
The Northern Circuit is widely regarded as the most successful route for climbers of all ages and fitness levels. This route features closer camps that enhance acclimatization while offering a full-circle journey around the mountain. Along the way, you can enjoy extended views, including glimpses of Amboseli National Park in Kenya. We strongly recommend a 9-day trek on the mountain plus 2 days in Arusha, giving a total of 11 days in Tanzania for a safe and rewarding climb.
