OUR COMMUNITY

We welcome you to volunteer in Tanzania with Wild Root Safaris and Adventures and support local communities in need. This is a great opportunity to experience life in East Africa while immersing in local culture and traditions. 

The projects we offer are designed to support and encourage local initiatives that often continue after work camps have ended. With a group of volunteers working together to “get the job done,” you will be helping our company to achieve a particular task that desperately needs to be completed.

There are many different volunteer opportunities in Tanzania to choose from!

Support early childhood education and teach English at a rural Maasai school

Help build classrooms, or assist on building renovations and health-related projects

Raise awareness about women’s rights to empower marginalized communities

All of our projects are based in Arusha. These locations are ideal to experience local culture while making a difference. We have dedicated staff on the ground who will be available to assist you 24/7.

One  of our primary goals is to provide free and quality education to those who otherwise would not have received them, we focus on educating Maasai disabled and able children. We have also been running a campaign on educating the Maasai community regarding disabilities. Due to lack of resources and awareness, they often keep disabled kids confined within their houses since they often believe having a disabled kid is a bad luck in the community,  and unfortunately, sometimes even kill the children. Our campaign is designed to educate the Maasai community regarding disabilities and that there are options available for support and assistance. Fortunately, we have changed thousands of Maasai communities since the campaign began. 

We donate a part of our company profits to help impoverished families that are not able to take their kids to school. With every trip you book with us you help send a kid to school and change someone’s life. 

We have received tremendous support, creative ideas and many volunteer hours to help support these initiatives. Help us help the children, we can’t do it without you.

FUND RAISING

We are currently  raising funds from donors to build five new classes to benefit the local children. We need to raise thousands of dollars in order to make this goal a reality. 

  • Building one class for 30 children cost approximately $8500-9700 USD. 
  • Sponsoring a child for their 1st term costs approximately $550 USD including fees, transportation and meals 
  • A full term costs approximately $1,100 USD.
  • A budget for supplies, school expenses and emergencies   is budgeted at $19,000 – 23,000 USD a year for the entire school.

SUPPLY DONATIONS

Computers

We offer  computer classes and have very few computers available for the children to use. We are planning to build a computer lab, so if you have any used computers don’t hesitate to contact us and we will put them to good use.

Sports Equipment

We believe that sports is a very important activity for children. If you have any donatable sports equipment or clothing, we appreciate any donations.

Clothing

We will always accept clothing donations for the children. Anything helps.
