Wild Root Safaris and Adventures was established in 2005 by local Tanzanian Mathew Mollel. The company was developed with a primary focus in providing employment to locals who may have never received such opportunities.

We specialize in tailor-made Tanzanian private safaris, Kilimanjaro treks, walking safaris, cycling tours and beach holidays. We have a well-selected team of guides, porters and cooks that are ready to make your African safari experience truly unforgettable.

We know there are many Tanzanian tour companies to choose from, but we hope you will choose to support local, as it does make an impact on Tanzania and our local communities.

Mathew was born and raised in the heart of Northern Tanzania in the village of Arusha. After receiving both primary and secondary education in Arusha, he attended the School of Tourism Hospitality and Tour Guide Management.

He has worked with various tour companies in Arusha which has allowed him to gain extensive experience in the local tourism industry. He was dedicated to climbing Kilimanjaro (the highest mountain in Africa) and worked as a safari guide before venturing out on his own to open Wild Root Safari and Adventures.

Tanzania boasts unparalleled concentrations of wildlife – there is no country that can compete with the sheer number and density of wild animals. Tanzania is home to the famous “Great Migration” and more National Parks than any other African country – including two of the most renowned wildlife parks in the entire world. It is also a politically stable and safe country with gracious, respectful people and very little crime.
