5 Days Special Migration From December – March


Ndutu migration safari during calving tours holidays and travel packages have been designed specifically to focus on and to increase your chance to see the great Serengeti wildebeest migration. We have designed the itinerary to include the Lake Ndutu area, southern Serengeti and central Serengeti National Park where the majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found from December through to April. To save on unnecessary travel time and to increase your game viewing time.

Day 0:

Arrival at JRO at meet and greet with your driver guide and later drive to Arusha town about 1 hour drive and overnight at your own choice of accommodation.

Day 1:

After breakfast head to Lake Manyara National Park. We will have our lunch boxes in the park and continue with game drive. This national park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park), located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Lake Manyara’s unique tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake. DAY 2:

After breakfast head towards Serengeti NP ( km 205) via the land of the Masai Ngorongoro Conservation area. Explore the land of the Masai and wild animals grazing together with Masai cattle. Continue to Serengeti with an en route game drive, enter into Serengeti NP at the first gate and also the boundary between Ngorongoro and Serengeti NP. Enjoy the lunch boxes at the main gate known as Naabi gate. There is an observations trail over viewing the endless plains of Serengeti. The park covers the area of 14763 and divided into four parts: center, east, south, and western. Continue with the game drive explore the real migration until evening and have an overnight at Katikati tented camp (D, B, L

DAY 3:

Today we wake up for early morning game drives exploring the animals doing their early activities if you are lucky you may find predators hunting. Later head back to the camp for full breakfast, after breakfast packs up and continue with the game drives in the central Serengeti and later afternoon after pick nick lunch slowly head out of the Serengeti toward ndutu area the south of Serengeti where the millions of wildebeest migration are seen at that time of the year. The majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to April. The area is usually heavily populated with an elephant, birds, and resident game.

Day 4:

Today is another day where we wake up for early morning game drives exploring the real migration found in ndutu area. Later head back to the camp for full breakfast and after breakfast pack up and continue with the game drives in the ndutu area. We enjoy the pick nick lunch overview the migration and late afternoon head toward the Ngorongoro conservation area for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro rhino lodge. D,B, L

Day 5:

After breakfast we descend 600m into this magnificent crater for a full-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its huge population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard. We will enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor and later slowly head to Arusha for overnight or connect with your flight on board to your next destination.
