Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire park

In the morning I will pick you up from your hotel to start your safari to the Tarangire National Park. The park is roughly the size of Luxemburg and covers an area of about 2,600 km². Bush savannah, seasonal swamps and giant baobab trees make up the landscape of this nature reserve and the park is probably one of the best places in East Africa to see elephants. Not only are there thousands, but they are also relatively accustomed to vehicles so you will be able to get really close to them. Apart from elephants, the park is also home to Masai giraffes, various gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons and more than 500 types of birds. Continue with the game drives till late afternoon and head to Eileen’s tree inn lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tarangire Serengeti plains

After breakfast we will travel from Tarangire to the lush highlands where crops such as wheat, corn and coffee are grown. Travelling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area you might stop for a breath-taking view over the Ngorongoro Crater before you continue to the Serengeti National Park. Serengeti means “endless plains” in the language of the Masai and you will see the grassland savannah stretching to the horizon. Bizarre rock formations dot the grassy landscape where predators roam. Blue wildebeests, Thomson’s gazelles, zebras and buffaloes are on the menu… Through the high and open roof of the safari vehicle you will be able to enjoy the diversified habitats and landscapes of the park. You will arrive in the Seronera Valley for an evening meal and overnight stay at the Ang’ata Tented Camp. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3: Full day Serengeti game drives

The whole day will be spent on a game drive in the Serengeti National Park. The areas you will visit depend upon the location of the herds. During the short rainy season in November and December the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south while during the longer rainy season from April to June they return back up north. This circle of life is determined by the rainfalls and locations of the herds might vary from year to year but your guide will know where to find the animals and where to see them best. A visit to the Serengeti Visitor Centre is also possible. Here you can learn more about the history of the park and the research that is being done by the Frankfurter Zoological Society. You will spend another night at the same Camp. Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 4: Serengeti game drives later ngorongoro

After breakfast you will continue your safari in the Serengeti National Park. In the Seronera Valley you might be lucky to see predators hunt as animals gather at the waters during the dry season. After lunch at a picnic spot you will slowly drive in the direction of the Ngorongoro Crater. As soon as you have reached the crater you will have a superb view of the caldera. This approximate 20 km wide crater is part of an UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to over 20,000 animals. You will stay at the ngorongororhinoLodge .Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 5: Ngorongoro crater -Arusha/airport

Rise and shine! After an early breakfast you will drive down the steep path into the crater just. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest, unbroken and unflooded caldera in the world and it has an unbelievable diversity of wildlife. In addition to zebras and wildebeests, you might also spot the rare black rhino and other members of the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The crater is also home to other animals such as hyenas, waterbucks, bushbucks, eland and more than 500 bird species.
